  • A Course In Miracles: Reborn

    A Course In Miracles: Reborn

A new web site and a digital file called The Miracles Journal, A Course In Miracles Notebook

A Course In Miracles was recorded or "scribed," as the process has often been referred to, in the 1960's and 1970's. It was first published in the mid-1970's. Thirty, or so, years later, the original publication came into the public domain. Now, it is time for new formats, new ways of studying the course, new ways of making the course more portable.

  • A Heart Crystal Clear

    A Heart Crystal Clear

In this time, the autumn of 2008, there is much buzz around us of politics. I would not comment on the current situation. At least, I will resist doing so. It would be hard to be human in these times and not have something to say about politics at this time.

I will, however, post an essay I wrote in 1999 on the passing of John F. Kennedy, Jr.

  • Elegy for Rob Matson

    Elegy for Rob Matson

Time is not the guardian of what we give today. We give to those unborn and those passed by, to every Thought of God, and to the Mind in which these Thoughts were born, and where They rest. We remind them of their resting place each time we tell ourselves, "I rest in God."

  • What is A Course In Miracles?

What is A Course In Miracles?

A Course In Miracles is a set of books. A text to be read and studied, a set of lessons to be practiced, a manual for teachers explaining how the course can be transferred to others, whether or not others read the course.

  • Barack Obama: What will he do?

Barack Obama: What will he do?

I did not follow any of the speeches or debates during the campaign. Of course, I heard some snippets here and there, but not enough to make a difference. I considered all politicians as ultimately working for, and becoming part of, some machine, a machine that exists to serve itself and not any citizenry.

Now, however, I am listening to and reading some of what is being said about Obama. Maybe Obama is different. Maybe he is a real person. Maybe he will succeed in resisting the pull of the machine.

  • How to Make Your iPod Take Notes

How to make your iPod take notes

How to make your iPod take notes is a short, two part article. The first part pertains specifically to getting a page from Circus Ponies' Notebook software onto your iPod. The second part deals with the quirk of the iPod to "forget" you have notes on the iPod.

Barack Obama: What will we make of him?

    We thank you, Father,
for the light that shines forever in us.
    And we honor it
because You share it with us.
    We are one,
united in this light, and one with You,
at peace with all creation and ourselves.

I heard part of the We Are One concert on NPR. I hope everyone gets a chance to see or hear this concert. It was truly inspirational.
  • Gospel of Luke

Gospel of Luke, from the New Testament

When I first decided to post the Gospel of Luke, I thought I would only post Chapter 15, which contains the story of the prodigal son. I would put it on the site as a reference and to illustrate other postings. I've since decided to post the entire Gospel of Luke and may eventually post the whole New Testament.

This is the outline page for the Gospel of Luke. Each chapter is on a separate page.

Chapter 15 of the Gospel of Luke contains the story of the prodigal son. It's a classic, well known parable. I'm posting it for convenience because I've referenced the story in a blog post about Christian the Lion.

Chapter 13 contains the story of Jesus healing on the Sabbath where he was criticized for doing so. In Chapter 14, he repeats this and explains again why it makes sense to overlook outdated rules.

In Chapter 15, again, the old expectations of unforgiveness are turned upside down. Instead, welcome and love are offered. Everything else is overlooked; no sins are considered at all. This is what the New Testament is about. In A Course In Miracles, Jesus re-states the message of the New Testament and corrects it where it has been misunderstood or misinterpreted.

  • The Search for God

    God: The Search for God
    (geek humor)

It happened when I started this web site that, while everything was new and few pages existed, I wanted readers to be able to easily find references to God. So, the "term" God came into being. But there was automation also.

Automation is a good thing; it lets you do far more now than you could, say, ten years ago, with a web site. Automation found the term, God, quite interesting and began to multiply God. When it found a new reference to God, it made a new God. There was not only plain God, but God-0, God-1, and so on. I think there were eleven Gods when I put a stop to it. After all, there is really only One God. Wouldn't you agree?

Automation then started adding terms like, "God Himself" and "Yet God" into the mix. Were these terms more Gods or were they relatives of God? Automation wasn't sure. These references could be found in the Workbook for students of A Course in Miracles online and in the Workbook Journal for students of A Course in Miracles. I eliminated them as separate entities of God.

I attempted to combine all the Gods into One God, but automation was confused by this and it never quite worked out. Plus, now there were many pages on the web site and God was mentioned on nearly every page, either by quote, or reference, or instruction.

Furthermore, it came to my attention that automation had made God into a person. God is not a person, much as the ego-mind would like to personify Him thus. I then thought I could stop the madness by eliminating the "term" God altogether because, clearly, God is everywhere.

But the search, the search for God, and the search engines went on, looking for God. God is within you. You are carrying the Light of God within. You and I, and everyone, can learn to use the Light of God more often and more consistently. And we can help each other learn to do this.

So now, I have corrected the problem of the search for God. All such searches will be re-directed here.

    Thank you for reading.
Your brother in love and peace and the light of God.
    Peter
