Gospel of Luke

Gospel of Luke, from the New Testament

When I first decided to post the Gospel of Luke, I thought I would only post Chapter 15, which contains the story of the prodigal son. I would put it on the site as a reference and to illustrate other postings. I've since decided to post the entire Gospel of Luke and may eventually post the whole New Testament.

This is the outline page for the Gospel of Luke. Each chapter is on a separate page.

Chapter 15 of the Gospel of Luke contains the story of the prodigal son. It's a classic, well known parable. I'm posting it for convenience because I've referenced the story in a blog post about Christian the Lion.

Chapter 13 contains the story of Jesus healing on the Sabbath where he was criticized for doing so. In Chapter 14, he repeats this and explains again why it makes sense to overlook outdated rules.

In Chapter 15, again, the old expectations of unforgiveness are turned upside down. Instead, welcome and love are offered. Everything else is overlooked; no sins are considered at all. This is what the New Testament is about. In A Course In Miracles, Jesus re-states the message of the New Testament and corrects it where it has been misunderstood or misinterpreted.
