Barack Obama: What will we make of him?

Barack Obama: What will we make of him?

We thank you, Father,
for the light that shines forever in us.
And we honor it
because You share it with us.
We are one,
united in this light, and one with You,
at peace with all creation and ourselves.
- A Course In Miracles
I heard part of the We Are One concert on NPR. I hope everyone gets a chance to see or hear this concert. It was truly inspirational. I feel that now I am getting what Barack Obama is about. His intelligence stands out and shines brightly at this moment in human history. His speeches bring hope to many of a free and improved world.

Goodbye G. W. Bush

I am your brother. ForgiveMany are celebrating the exit of the president we've had for the last eight years. In a way, he's not really going anywhere, only to Texas to hunt and fish and drill for oil. We should not forget that Bush represented our collective consciousness. Even when fifty-one per cent of the nation voted for another presidential candidate, we allowed the court to appoint Bush as our president. Bush was the ultimate terrorist; we allowed that - wars, the so-called Patriot Act, Blackwater atrocities, the claiming of executive power against the Constitution of the country - all in the name of Homeland Security, but in reality to protect himself and his family's oil interests. This is over. And, no matter what, we must recognize G. W. Bush as our brother. And forgive.

Highlights from Obama's "We Are One" speech

To make the world a better place, we have to participate with our minds. Hold the thoughts you would like to see come to fruition. Let your voice through prayer or meditation speak those thoughts. Something that Obama said on January 18, 2009, reflects that he understands this. A president can only act out our collective consciousness. So, as much hope as Barack Obama brings to us as a country, what happens during his presidency will be what we make of him. Hold and give him the voice of change you would like to see. He said, "yours are the voices I will take with me everyday when I walk into that Oval Office..." Some highlights of his speech from the We Are One concert:
As I prepare to assume the presidency, yours are the voices I will take with me everyday when I walk into that oval office. The voices of men and women who have different stories, but hold common hopes.
...that we might make of our lives what we will...
Never forget that the true character of our nation is revealed, not during times of comfort and ease, but by the right we do when the moment is hard. I ask you to help reveal that character once more.
