Preface - Edition Notes for the Workbook
In this edition of the Workbook of A Course in Miracles, I have re-typed these lessons directly from the scanned pages, which are images, of the original pages typed by William Thetford and Helen Schucman. There are dates on the pages of each section and they begin on May 26, 1969. I have not included the dates. While there are 365 lessons, one for each day, the scribing of the Workbook took well over two years. The difference between this edition and other editions may be subtle.
More importantly, the reason for doing this work and creating this edition is to put it in a new format. The format I have chosen for this is Circus Ponies’ Notebook (www.circusponies.com). The Notebook software has many useful features and is one of the best ways to study A Course In Miracles or any material. I have used Cornell Note Taking page format for all the pages of the Text and Workbook. This is what turns the Course into a Journal. Cornell Note Taking pages contain three sections (four, if you count the heading). A journal or notes can be placed in a column along the side of the Course and in a section below the Course. Any page in a Notebook can be clicked to sync with an iPod.
I will also post this page and the Workbook pages on this web site. There are many web sites now that have the complete text and workbook online. I welcome any feedback on the way I am posting the Workbook on this site. I will add to this page over time.
